This Canadian designed PTSolns Nano Terminal Expansion Adapter (NTEA-MD) board offers a convenient and efficient way to prototype with your Arduino Nano. The medium footprint (MD) is the most common size in the industry. It allows for the board to fit into small spaces, while maintaining a strong connection via the screw terminals. These screw terminals can attach both stranded and solid wires.

The NTEA-MD has printing on both sides of the PCB. This gives the user the ability to solder the breakout components on either side and still be able to read the labelling of the pins. For this reason the NTEA-MD package does not come assembled. The NTEA-MD has an additional 2-pin screw terminal is available to be added at the rear side of the board, which contain the Vin and GND pins.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why is the board not soldered and assembled?

A: This NTEA-MD is a Nano breakout board unlike any other. It gives the user the flexibility to solder the breakout components (male headers and screw terminals) on either side of the PCB while being able to read the pin labels easily. Therefore, the board requires assembling as the user determines which orientation best suits their needs.

 

Q: The silkscreen printing for the female headers is printed in mirror image. Is my board defected?

A: The female headers should only be solder onto the top side of the PCB. You can identify the top side of the board by the white outline boxes for the female header footprint (see product photo). Please do not place the female headers on the back side, which does not have these white outline boxes. Consequently, the silkscreen printed labels will appear mirror imaged if you mistakenly place the female headers on the back side.

What you'd expect

Pretty good break out board for the uno. Solder joints are good and the terminals are smooth. Be careful not to tighten them too hard as you might snap the terminals.
