About this item

  • Who is BoB?: BoB stands for "Breakout Board." This product serves as a breakout board for various ESP-based microcontroller development boards. A breakout board typically exposes some or all of a device’s pins for easier access. In this ESP BoB, all pins are broken out via male and female headers, as well as screw terminals, offering maximum flexibility for prototyping and development.
  • Applications: The ESP BoB enables fast prototyping by offering multiple connection options to the pins of an ESP microcontroller development board. Male and female headers support quick connections using jumper or DuPont wires, while screw terminals provide a more secure and durable connection. The ESP BoB can be used as a standalone platform for testing simple circuits or in conjunction with a standard breadboard or prototyping perf board.
  • Compatibility: With its double row of female headers, the ESP BoB supports a wide range of ESP-based microcontroller development boards. It is compatible with the PTSolns ESP32 microWatt as well as many other ESP32 and ESP8266 development boards.
  • What’s Included: Each package includes one (1) PTSolns ESP BoB PCB, 12 3.5mm 3-Pin Screw Terminals, two (2) 3.5mm 2-Pin Screw Terminals, two (2) 2.54mm 1x20 Pin Female Header, two (2) 2.54mm 2x20 Pin Female Header, one (1) 2.54mm 1x40 Pin Male Header. The user can assemble the headers such that it best suits their needs. This is a kit, SOLDERING REQUIRED.

    Product Description

PTSolns ESP BoB breakout board for ESP32 and ESP8266 development boards, featuring screw terminals, male and female headers for easy access to all GPIO pins and flexible prototyping setup
The ESP BoB Kit is an unassembled kit designed to interface with ESP development boards, and other similarly sized boards. BoB stands for “Breakout Board”, which is exactly what this product does.

The central double row female headers can accept many of the common microcontrollers, up to 20 rows in length and between 8 to 10 rows spacings in width (20.32 mm, 22.86 mm, 25.40 mm). The breakouts on both sides include a footprint for a row of female header, a row of male header, and a row of screw terminals.

The ESP BoB is compatible with the ESP32 microWatt and a range of other popular boards with similar footprints. Consult the schematics below to check if your board fits.

This product, along with all of the PTSolns products, comes with a detailed datasheet, and other supporting material. Please view our "PTSolns Documentation Repository" to access these documents.

        High Quality. Multiple Choice

This breakout board is well-designed, appears to be of high quality, and is highly useful for rapid prototyping and DIY projects. It offers multiple connection options and supports up to 40 pins, making it compatible with various microcontroller boards, such as the ESP32.

The board is not pre-soldered, allowing users to solder only the connection options they require. One of its key advantages is the flexibility it provides in pin spacing—it supports three different spacing configurations between the output pin arrays. This makes it adaptable to a wide range of ESP32 board layouts.
