  • What’s the Problem?: There are many ESP-based microcontroller development boards available in a range of sizes and footprints. Many of these boards occupy most or all of the rows on a standard breadboard, making prototyping and quick circuit assembly difficult due to limited space. The ESP Master Key solves this problem by relocating the ESP dev board off the breadboard, freeing up valuable space.
  • Compatibility: The ESP Master Key is compatible with the ESP32 microWatt, as well as any ESP microcontroller development board that has up to 20 pins in a row and has a row to row spacing of 8x, 9x, or 10x 2.54mm/0.1in. See the schematic for a clear depiction of this.

Compatible with PTSolns ESP32 microWatt and similar ESP boards, fits standard breadboards and PTSolns Proto-Full and Proto-Half prototyping boards.

    The PTSolns ESP Master Key is part of the Key-Series. This Key makes working with many of the ESP boards simpler and more efficient, in turn saving you time and frustration. The ESP Master Key is a breakout board adapter that connects popular boards, such as many of the ESP boards, to a breadboard or prototyping board. The unique design frees up precious space on your breadboard/prototyping board and eliminates complicated wiring schemes that take hours to install and easily rip off when trying to remove the ESP board from the breadboard. If you have ever worked with an ESP on a breadboard, then you know the struggle!

    This ESP Master Key is called "Master" as any of the standard ESP boards will interface with it. The Key can interface with a board of up to 20 pins per row (2.54mm/0.1in pitch) and a row spacing of 8x, 9x or 10x 2.54mm/0.1in (See Schematic in images). The Key fits on any standard breadboard/prototyping board, and also the PTSolns Proto-Full and Proto-Half boards.

    The ESP Master Key is compatible with the PTSolns ESP32 microWatt, along with a long list of similar ESP-based microcontroller development boards. Never has prototyping with an ESP development board been this convenient!

      This example using the ESP Master Key shows that the Key frees up valuable rows on a standard breadboard. There are several different models of ESP based microcontroller development boards and some of them only leave a single row on one side on the breadboard. With the Key, these rows are freed up.

      Not only does the ESP Master Key free up valuable breadboard rows, it also make it easier to remove the ESP based microcontroller development board from the entire breadboard without having to first move wires. The Key makes prototyping on a breadboard much easier!

      Dimensions of the ESP Master Key

      The ESP Master Key has two double rows of female headers, each 20 pins long. The spacing between the two parallel headers is shown in the schematic above. With this spacing, most ESP based microcontroller development boards will fit on the Key.

      Finally something for cheaper ESP32 modules

      So many of us bought ESP32 modules with the four holes in the corners and less pins because they are generally less expensive and more available. And until now, it was either directly connect to module header pins OR suffer the bent-pin-plus-holes-hog-on-breadboard problem.

      This kit solves it ALL - for two of your modules. Yes, unfortunately it does require some soldering to put together. But well worth the effort! And now with those excess face masks lying around - you can redeploy them to spare yourself of lead fumes.

      Great addition to your solderless breadboard

      IMO these breadboard helpers are a must have. Makes breadboard wiring so much easier. I do recommend NOT using the supplied headers to plug into the holes in the breadboard. Use machine pin headers instead as they are much easier on the springs in the breadboard holes.
