These little modules are super handy to have around. Some call them just level shifters, some call them Logic Level Shifters (LLS) - like us. In many situations, you may find that you have a sensor module that operates on 3.3V and communicates to a 5V microcontroller via the I2C protocol (as an example). In that case you have to convert the 5V I2C signals down to 3.3V, otherwise you risk damaging the module. This module does just that! It is also bi-directional so the sensor can talk to the microcontroller, and vice versa. There are four channels available.

This module is a FET-based level shifter and therefore is limited in the speed it can handle. We recommend this module for I2C signals, TTL Serial, and slow SPI (less than 2MHz). For faster signals (SPI) we recommend the TXS0108E LLS.
